The Penguin Figure Skating Club has a long and rich history. Formed in 1941, just 2 years after the Ice Palace opened, the club was honored as a 50 year member of the USFSA in 1991. A plaque commemorating this hangs in the Ice Palace. The club has had successful members at all levels of competition and has had several Gold Medalists in almost every discipline.

The club is the 2nd oldest figure skating club in the state of Pennsylvania.
